The shampoo and conditioner are gentle enough for everyday use on natural or dyed red hair. The shampoo works best when left in your hair for 1-2 minutes before rinsing. Follow by applying the conditioner to wet hair and leave for 2-5 minutes before rinsing.
The hair mask is recommended for use following the shampoo, around one in every four washes, depending on preference. It works best when applied to wet hair and left for 5-7 minutes before rinsing.
The leave-in conditioner should be sprayed evenly onto clean, damp hair and combed through before styling. It can also be used on dry hair to refresh styles and add extra moisture and shine.

Continued use of our products is recommended to maximise the benefits of the henna.

Caution: use only as directed. Avoid contact with eyes. If eye contact occurs rinse well with water. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

Are your products safe for dyed/bleached hair?

Yes, whether you're natural, dyed or bleached. Certain hennas can be unsafe for use with bleached hair, but as Gingerful's henna ingredient does not contain additional metallic salts, you are safe to use with bleached hair.

Will your products dye my hair?

No. We spent a long time perfecting our products to contain a small, specific amount of henna that boosts the warm tones you already have without dyeing. Because it's not full strength, nothing is permanent: results build with regular use and gradually fade back to your starting shade if you stop.

My hair is [strawberry blonde/ auburn/ dark red], with some greys/white – will your products work on my hair?

If your strands hold any red or warm pigment, Gingerful will boost it in keeping with your starting shade. That includes strawberry blonde, auburn, dark red, and young or ageing hair. It can't add red where there's none, so fully white strands are unlikely to change. You may be surprised how much red is still hiding in there, though, and those pigments can gradually become more vibrant.

Our shampoo and conditioner bottles, plus hair mask jar bases are made from 100% recycled plastic. This means they are made by reusing single-use materials that would otherwise be disposed of in landfill sites. Our amber spray bottles are made from 100% Prevented Ocean Plastic (POP), which has been collected from coastal areas that are at increased risk from ocean plastic pollution. These different forms of plastics are much better for the environment and is recyclable, too.

The lids of our shampoo and conditioner bottles are currently made of traditional oil-based plastic as these are not yet easily available to us in 100% recycled plastic. They are recyclable though.

The spray heads of our leave-in bottles are currently not recyclable due to being made with mixed materials (but we hope this will change soon).

Your hair products will arrive in the post wrapped in recyclable paper wrap and recyclable mailing boxes, so please do your bit for the planet and either reuse or recycle.
