Ingredient highlight: Ginger

When we are exploring new haircare ingredients for Gingerful's products, we often find that nature holds the key.

Renowned for its culinary uses and spicy flavour, the benefits of ginger root extend far beyond the kitchen, and into the world of haircare. And with the added bonus that 'ginger' is the best nickname for redheads (in our opinion, anyway), it seemed all the more apt to harness the ingredient in Gingerful's formula.

WHY IS GINGER GOOD FOR YOUR HAIR?

Encourages hair growth

Ginger is rich in circulatory agents like magnesium, phosphorous and potassium, which are all excellent at stimulating blood flow to hair follicles. Improved circulation means better nutrient delivery, thus strengthening strands, boosting healthy hair growth and preventing hair fall.

Soothes scalp irritation

The anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties of ginger make it a luscious remedy for soothing an irritated scalp and combatting dandruff. It can help to calm itchiness, redness, and inflammation, providing relief to those with sensitive or irritated scalps.

Strengthens and softens strands

Ginger contains essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that nourish and strengthen hair strands from root to tip. These nutrients help to prevent damage, reduce breakage, and enhance hair elasticity, resulting in smoother, more manageable hair. Additionally, ginger's moisturising properties help hydrate and soften the hair, leaving it silky, shiny, and touchably soft.

Incorporating ginger into your redhead haircare routine can impart many benefits to your hair and scalp health, so it's no wonder that we chose to use this special ingredient in Gingerful's full range of Henna & Rose shampoo, conditioner and hair mask.
